The Beacon was started because we wanted to be available to the needs of the community. We originally took a survey of the surrounding community, the result being that people thought that a youth drop in center was needed and would benefit the community. The Beacon was made to be a safe place for young people to build positive relationships and for the staff to be able to work with the youth, guiding them through the hardships of life. The Beacon right now is open from 3:30-6 pm on Thursdays.
